Motorists in Weyburn may notice some changes at the intersection of 16th Street and 1st Avenue.

The stop sign on the west side of the intersection (for east-bound traffic) has been moved.

Stop bars were also painted at all the stop signs this year, which city engineer Sean Abram said hasn't been done for the past few years.

"As a consistent layout with the other three stops signs at that intersection, the stop bar has been located adjacent to the stop sign," explained Abram.

The stop sign's previous location was well back from the intersection, which caused some concerns for motorists.

"It should provide for less hesitation by east-bound travellers, and a little bit more consistency in the layout of the intersection," Abram said.

The advance warning light indicating that it is a stop remains in place to remind people it is a four-way stop.
