Magic 103's Deron Fahlman and Kyla Carrier encouraged residents to help Blow Away Hunger today.

The duo spent the day at Prairie Sky Co-op Food Store in Weyburn, taking donations for the Salvation Army. As added incentive to help the food bank, which has seen a drastic increase in need over the past 18 months, Canadian Tire donated a snow blower to be given away to one lucky participant.

Listeners could make donations in a variety of sizes, all of which got an entry into the draw. At 5:45, John Miller was drawn as the lucky winner!

At the end of the Radiothon, which ran from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., roughly $2,760 were raised with over 300 people donating.

As you can see in the video, there was a lot of fun and Community Ministries Co-ordinator for the Salvation Army was overwhelmed by the support.

Magic 103 thanks Prairie Sky Co-op, who made a huge food donation ahead of the event, for once again hosting the event, Canadian Tire for the snow blower prize and the over 300 residents who came out to support the cause.
