A big concert is coming up Friday night in support of the Weyburn Humane Society. Justin LaBrash and Karissa Hoffart will take to the stage, providing the entertainment at McKenna Hall.

“They’re working really hard to raise enough funds to hopefully get in a new building on top of all their regular costs of all the food and vet bills, and everything that they do for all the critters that they have there at the Humane Society,” LaBrash told Country 106.7 morning show host Dara Currie. “We thought, what better way to kind of bring the community together, get some money towards the Humane Society than to team up and do a concert.”

The doors for the show at McKenna Hall open at 7:00 p.m., with the concert beginning at 7:30 p.m.

LaBrash said the concert will highlight some of the differences between the duo.

“Karissa and I have a little different approach to our shows,” explained the five-time SCAM Award winner. “She’s very prim and proper, and she likes to put on a very professional show, and I’m kind of all over the place. I like to run around the stage. I like to have fun, lots of energy.”

For LaBrash and Hoffart, helping out with fundraising concerts is something that is important to them.

“We are in a unique position that we’re able to help put on these events with both our music, and we’ve had lots of experience organizing stuff like this over the years,” LaBrash said. “So, to continue to do that and be able to use what we’re blessed with to give back to the community that’s given us so much, I think that that’s what makes it important to us.”

Tickets for the show are available in advance from the Weyburn Humane Society, or through LaBrash’s website.
