Students in grades 7-9 were on stage to perform in the Weyburn Comprehensive Junior Musical production at the Cugnet Centre this week.

"It was fantastic, Mrs. Cameron did an amazing job getting those kids ready," explained Lindy Schira, Parent of Ember.

Ember performed in the role of Iago, the parrot and sidekick to Jafar from Disneys Aladdin.

"The kids had an amazing amount of talent for the age of kids that they had," added Lindy.

There were two performances open to the public on Tuesday evening and Wednesday with the third performance on Tuesday afternoon for 700 Weyburn students.

"It was so awesome. We had a great crowd of people come out both nights to see the show," said Tanya Cameron, Director of Aladdin and band teacher for Weyburn Comprehensive High School.

Cameron said that she looked at a few different musicals and felt that certain students would fit certain roles, which is why she chose Aladdin.

Cameron also said thank you to everyone that came out to support the junior musical and to continue to do so next fall in the next musical.

"These kids are only in grades 7, 8 and 9 but the show's pretty professional, we have sets and lights and microphones, its a really fun experience."

For those who missed the performance or wish to see it again, will be able to watch it in the near future.

Cameron said it will be available to watch on Youtube.
