As part of the Saskatchewan Legislature 100th Anniversary, 8 new pieces of art were unveiled at a special celebration this week. Clay artwork from Sandra Ledingham, who grew up in Weyburn and now lives in Saskatoon, was included as part of the Provincial Capital Commission Artist-In-Residency program.

This artist-in-residence initiative is funded through the Creative Partnerships program, which is delivered by the Saskatchewan Arts Board in collaboration with SaskCulture Inc., through funding from the Saskatchewan Lotteries Trust Fund for Sport, Culture and Recreation.

The pieces from the 8 commissioned artists were unveiled Wednesday and will be displayed in 8 alcoves in the Rotunda of the Saskatchewan Legistature.

Sandra Ledingham was born near Weyburn, where she went to high school before attending the University in Regina. She has taught at University of Saskatchewan, SIAST Applied Arts Department, Concordia University, Portland Oregon.
