While the Red Wings hockey season officially kicks off tonight at Crescent Point Place, the paving of Mergens Street won't be done for a couple more weeks.

"The paving company we have contracted out to do that work is scheduled to start that work the last week of September and the first week of October," explained Adam Hoffart, Public Relations Coordinator with the City of Weyburn. "We had a bit of work to do there before the contractor could come in and repave that."

The water main on Mergens Street was replaced in August.

"The water service construction was done and we wanted them to come in September 1st, but unfortunately they were all booked up with different projects."

He noted parking during the paving work will not be an issue, as Crescent Point Place will be accessible from the north parking lot.
