The Weyburn Police Service arresting two people on drug charges Thursday, after conducting an early morning search on a residence in the city. The search was done with assistance from an RCMP police service dog unit, and the National Weapons Support Team.

A 23-year-old man was arrested, along with a 17-year-old girl, on a number of drug charges. They were taken into custody without incident.

The man is facing charges of trafficking in cocaine, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime. Other charges are still under investigation.

The girl was charged with possession of cocaine.

Roughly 210 grams of cocaine was seized by the police, which has an estimated street value of $21,000. Along with the drugs, $42,000 in cash was seized, along with a vehicle.

Both remain in custody pending their first court appearance.
