After sunshine and milder temperatures helped bring about some melting in Weyburn this afternoon, Environment Canada is advising we could see a return to winter on the weekend. While the temperatures aren’t expected to get below -20°, we could see a substantial amount of snow.

A Colorado low is expected to move into southern Saskatchewan on Saturday. It will be moving from west to east and could bring upwards of 20 centimetres of snow in some parts of the region. There is also the chance of some areas getting upwards of 30 centimetres.

The system is expected to move out of the province Sunday night, with sunshine expected to start next week, albeit with some slightly colder than seasonal temperatures.
