The Weyburn Wildlife Federation (WWF) will be hosting their annual Fred Garner Memorial Banquet and Trophy Night this Saturday, April 15th.

Held at McKenna Hall, the banquet is one of their major fundraisers and helps the WWF put on their programs throughout the year.

During the evening, they will have a 50/50 raffle table, a silent auction, a live auction, and ping pong. As well, there will be a delicious roast beef supper put on by caterer Angelo Fresnido, which is always a huge hit.

Terra Hartley Ortman, Communications, Public Relations, and Treasurer for the WWF, said some programs that the banquet helps support would be their "Take Me Fishing" course or their FINS [Fish in Schools] program.

"This event is also an evening to showcase our 2022 Trophy Award winners. They receive a plaque and their name on the trophy for each hunting category. Our event is sold out, and it's always great to see the support from everyone who is attending and of course to our sponsors. Without each of them, we could not make our event a success."

The different categories for the awards include fishing, birds, pheasants, whitetail, mule deer, moose, elk, antelope, and big game awards.

Ortman said, "Those will actually be listed on our website after the awards on Saturday next week, so you could definitely check out our website to see the winners."

As well, Ortman said to watch their social media over the next couple of days, as they will be giving each of their sponsors a shout-out.

"We have a fantastic executive board and current members right now that continue to help us out at all of our events. We can't wait for Saturday, it's going to be a great evening out!"
