Weyburn and much of the prairies are experiencing colder than normal weather as an Arctic system brought around 1-2 cm of snow overnight. More snow is expected this afternoon, Saturday and Sunday.
The wind chill for the next two days is expected to be around -32°C. A year ago on April 5th, the daytime high was 11.6°C with the lowest temperature -4.8°C. It was 20.2°C April 5th, 2012 with a minimum temperature of 3.9°C.
Warmer temperatures are expected next week on a sunny Tuesday and 4°C.
After a mostly dry 2017 and winter before March, farmers may appreciate the extra moisture but need the weather to warm up soon in order to start spring seeding.
Mostly undisturbed, 1-2 cm snow on the ground downtown Weyburn in the early hours of the morning.
