Weighing in at 797 lbs, the original bell from Weyburn's old post office has found a new home.

In May, the City of Weyburn will be honouring the bell, which was cast in 1913.

Norman Mryglod, who founded Mryglod Steel & Metals Inc., acquired the bell after the post office was demolished in 1986.

Norman, his wife Sandra who recently passed on Jan. 9, his daughter Theresa and granddaughter Alex have donated the bell in the memory of Norman and Sandra's son Glenn who passed away June 10, 1991, back to the city which will be displayed in front of City Hall.

The exact ceremony date in May is still to be narrowed down. Discover Weyburn will update you when this information comes in.
