The first leg of the Co-op Challenge, an annual volleyball series between Weyburn and Estevan Comprehensive Schools, has come to a close and Estevan has a strong lead.

The two schools faced off in the Eagles Gym at WCS last night.

The boys were up first, with their games beginning at 5:30. The Estevan Elecs took their match in three straight games.

Next up, the WCS Senior Girls tried to mount a comeback but Estevan also took that match three games to one.

The Challenge now moves to Estevan where both Weyburn teams will be looking to come back from behind and claim the challenge. Those games will go next Wednesday in Estevan with the girls starting at 5:30 and the boys starting at 7:30.
