This past week has been a busy one for Weyburn Lacrosse, with every team from U11 and up having at least one game.

The week started on Monday with the U13 Weyburn Security Thrashers in Regina to take on the QCMBL Riot Squad. Weyburn would come out firing, scoring four goals in the first period en route to a 7-2 victory. Julie Lebrecque led the way for Weyburn with four goals and two assists. Ryder Stepp had two goals, and AP callup Felix Wawro had a goal in the win.

Tuesday would see two games – one at home and one on the road – for Weyburn teams. At home, the U17 Panther Drilling Thrashers entertained the Moose Jaw Mustangs. The Mustangs, though, would get the better of the Thrashers, coming away with a 12-2 win. The goals for Weyburn were scored by Tayven Nordin and Brody Morrice.

The other game Tuesday had the U15 Young Fellows Thrashers in Regina to play the QCMBL Waterdogs. The Thrashers would start slow but picked it up in the second as they shut out the Waterdogs 5-0. Hudson Maloney led the way with three goals, while Evrhet Schenher and Shiloh Micklet had one goal each. Meanwhile, Quinton Stinson got the shutout in goal.

There was just one game on Wednesday, as the U11 Credit Union Thrashers travelled to Moose Jaw to play the Black Mustangs. Weyburn would turn it up in the third period, scoring five goals as they went on to win 6-2. Owen Eberle led the charge in scoring with three, while Bennett Baumgartner, Henry Riviere and Jett Fox also found the back of the net.

Thursday night had a trio of games for the Thrashers teams, with the U13 Young’s Equipment Thrashers at home against the Moose Jaw Red Mustangs, and both U15 teams in action. The U13 squad would take the early lead, but the Mustangs managed to eke out the victory, winning 5-4. Cohen Baumgartner had a pair of goals for Weyburn, with Judd Vennard and Harrison Baumgartner also scoring.

The U15 Completely Branded Thrashers were at home against Moose Jaw Mustangs, and earned their first win of the young season. Five goals in the third period helped to lift them to a 10-9 victory. Leo Missal was the top goal scorer for the Thrashers with four, while Maddox Mohan chipped in two. Also scoring in the victory were Chayse Willoughby, Caycen Wyatt, Liam Eddy and Nash Fabre.

The U15 Young Fellow Thrashers would follow up their shutout of the Waterdogs with another win in Regina, this time over the QCMBL Snipers. The score in this game would be 7-1 Weyburn. Leading the way again was Hudson Maloney, who had five goals. Also scoring for Weyburn was Shiloh Mickler and Nathan Rosengren. Quinton Stinson also finished the week with a GAA rarely seen in lacrosse – 0.50.

This weekend will be a busy one for all the lacrosse teams. Both of the U15 squads are off to Regina for the Mother’s Day Tournament, while on Saturday, the U11 Weyburn Credit Union Thrashers host the Swift Current Rampage for a doubleheader. The U13 teams head to Swift Current Saturday, where both teams will play a game against the Rampage, and also a game against each other. The U22 RentPro Completely Branded Razorbacks are also in action, heading to Moose Jaw to take on the Mustangs.
