The Weyburn Police Service is reminding residents there is a bullying bylaw in Weyburn, and bullies could end up facing fines, or more. The reminder comes after two bullying related incidents in the past week.

Last Monday, police began investigating an incident involving a 15-year-old boy accused of assault causing bodily harm. The incident is related to bullying.

The second incident was Wednesday. Police received a report of harassing, online bullying messages. The WPS is advising parents online bullying through means such as text message, email, Facebook or other social media is an offense under the city bylaws. In some circumstances, the bullying can rise to the level of a criminal offense.
