There were 66 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Saskatchewan Monday, the highest single-day increase since the first case was reported in the province back in March. In addition to the new cases, there were 10 recoveries, bringing the total number of active cases up to 398. 

There were 25 new cases reported in the Saskatoon region, 17 in the North Central region, eight in the Regina region, four in the North West region, three each in the Far North West and Far North East regions, two in the Central East and Central West regions, and one in the North East and South West regions. According to public health officials, the new cases reported in Saskatoon are primarily linked to outbreaks at bars and nightclubs, with more cases expected to be reported in the coming days. 

In Prince Albert, the Gospel Worship event is now connected to 86 first- and second-generation cases in 17 different communities across the province. Many of the newer cases being reported in the north are considered to be third-generation cases from the event. The contact investigation for the event now includes an estimated 450 contacts. 

Here in the South East, there are currently 12 active cases, with no new cases reported in the region. There is one person in the region who is in hospital receiving inpatient care for COVID-19.  

Testing has continued at a steady pace in the province, with 2,288 new cases of COVID-19 performed in the province on Sunday. So far, there have been 233,017 tests performed across the province. The provincial per capita rate per million is 159,870, while the national per capita rate is 231,415.
