A new after-school program is in the works for children in grades 1-6 at the Credit Union Spark Centre, to be led by the Big Brothers and Big Sisters (BBBS) of Weyburn. Before the program begins, BBBS would first like to gather input from the community to determine the level of need for after-school care for local children.

The pilot-program is expected to offer its services for the 2024/2025 school year and will be centered around the BBBS's mentorship approach to safety, arts, culture, recreation and fun. Transportation to and from the program will not be provided for 2024/2025, although it is a possibility in the future depending on community feedback and the development of the program.

To aid in their decision making process, BBBS is urging all residents with grade 1-6 children to take part in their anonymous survey. Each survey takes approximately 5 minutes to complete, and each completed survey will be entered to win a $25 Tim Horton's gift card for participating (entries close March 15th).
