Fred Fox made his way to Weyburn to talk with kids about his brother's legacy and to raise awareness for the Terry Fox Foundation. Fred is Terry's older brother and helped him out on his Marathon of Hope across Canada. Today, Fred is an ambassador for his brother's foundation and travels across Canada to keep Terry's memory alive.

On Tuesday he paid visits to St Michael School and Queen Elizabeth School to give a presentation to the kids.

"Whenever I'm speaking at schools, it's always important to get the message out that Terry was just an average, ordinary kid. He accomplished many of the goals through hard work and determination, and they can do the same thing," Fred Fox said. 'Anything is possible' as Terry would say."

Along with an inspirational speech, Fox also presented Queen Elizabeth School with a banner to mark their 10-year anniversary of supporting the Terry Fox Foundation.

Weyburn was one of many stops for Fox on his annual tour to promote the foundation and say thanks to everyone who has helped raise money.

Following his stop in Weyburn, Fox will be off to Regina tomorrow for more visits with school kids. On Thursday he'll be in Calgary and then by the weekend he'll be back at his home in Maple Ridge, British Columbia to take part in the town's Terry Fox Run.

This September marks the 38th anniversary of Terry Fox's journey from St. John's, Newfoundland to Thunder Bay, Ontario. He ran roughly a marathon every day for 143 days, all for the purpose of raising money for cancer research. Since his journey began, over $700 million dollars has been raised in his name.

The City of Weyburn will have their own Terry Fox Run this Sunday at River Park. It isn't too late to register, and you can do so right here
