The debate over equalization continues with the Saskatchewan Government accusing its MPs of breaking their word, while the Federal Conservatives maintain that the new formula is in fact better for residents.

Souris-Moose Mountain MP Ed Komarnicki says the new formula is infact better for Saskatchewan residents.

He adds that if you take the present formula and applied it backwards to the day Equilizations was incepted, in would mean an extra 5 million dollars for Saskatchewan residents.

The province maintains that the Conservative campaign promise to exclude non-renewable resource revenues from the formula would have meant an estimated eight-hundred million dollars, while with the cap, Saskatchewan will receive two-hundred and twenty-six million dollars in equalization payments this year.
