The end of the day tomorrow marks the deadline! The Weyburn Arts Council has been open for mural submissions. Three lucky artists will each receive $250, crafting a timeless piece of art to adorn one of the baseball dugouts in Jubilee Park.
Regan Lanning, the City Curator, has outlined the submission guidelines.
“The artist needs to be from Weyburn or area. This means you could have lived in Weyburn and you're in Calgary for school or something, you can still enter. And then the mural designs have to be a certain ratio of 2 up by 8 long because the actual dugouts themselves are 6 feet tall and 24 feet long.”
All art submissions can be either physically dropped off at the Credit Union Spark Centre or sent via email to rlanning@weyburn.ca. The deadline is tomorrow, April 30th, 2024.
