The oil and gas industry continues to place a premium on land rights in Saskatchewan. The August land sale brought in $48 million.
The Weybrun and Estevan area received the most bids, with sales totalling $43 million.
The average price per hectare in this land sale was $1,916, the third highest on record. So far this year, there has been $158 million in land sale revenues, surpassing the totals for both 2012 and 2013.
The next land sale of petroleum and natural gas rights will be in October.
