Officials suspect a worker at an oilfield site in southeastern Saskatchewan may have died of exposure to hydrogen sulfide (H2S) gas.

The 38-year-old man from Wawota was found dead last week at an oil field battery in the rural municipality of Hazelwood.

An autopsy has yet to determine exactly what killed the man. His employer, Nalco Champion, released a statement saying it is working with health and safety officials to determine what happened.
