Winter is on its way out and spring road bans and weight restrictions are on the way in. New orders released yesterday by the Ministry of Highways will take effect tomorrow.
Most highways south of the Trans-Canada Highway and west of Highway 6 are about to go under spring road restrictions, but the rest of the southeast is still under winter weights for now. Once the roads are under spring restrictions, they are expected to stay in place for six to eight weeks, though extreme weather could change that. If a prolonged cold spell occurs during the restriction season, they may be removed until conditions warrant their implementation again.

Official Spring Restriction Orders are issued every Tuesday and Friday, with the exception of Good Friday, by 12:30 p.m. during the appropriate season. Spring road restrictions are dependent on weather. Restrictions may change with 48 hours notice.
