Saskatchewan remains one of the top 10 jurisdictions for investment in petroleum exploration and development, according to the Fraser Institute.

The province brought in $10.9 million in revenue in the December sale of petroleum and natural gas rights. That worked out to $685 a hectare. The total for the year is now $56.5 million.

The Weyburn and Estevan area saw the second most number of bids, totaling $2.92 million. The most bids were received in the Lloydminster area.

The next sale of Crown petroleum and natural gas rights will be held on February 2.
