The 13th Annual Gateway Festival in Bengough, SK rocked the prairies this past weekend, welcoming around 4,000 music fanatics to the village of 350. This year hosted the legendary 'Life is a Highway' star, Tom Cochrane alongside his favourite band, Red Rider. Friday night would also host the stunning Jess Moskaluke who originates from Langenburg, Saskatchewan, a short four hour drive from Weyburn. And following her act, Canadian rock contemporary stars 54-40 shook the stage with favourites such as 'Ocean Pearl' and 'I Go Blind'. Watch our short wrap up video and see if you can spot yourself!

Our local talent also made appearances, with a performance from Tenille Arts on the Garden Stage Friday at 4:10 pm. Tenille has been super busy this summer, heading back and forth from Nashville, Tennessee to record and create a music video for her latest single 'Cold Feet', which as of Tuesday, July 25th 3:00 pm, was sitting at number 10 on the Country Charts on iTunes and was also placed on the Hot Tracks Section. Her music video also reached well over 100,000 views in  just 4 days. Watch below:

Weyburn's favourite rockstars made their way back to the Gateway Festival again for the fourth time, and were the festival's closing act, playing on the Garden Stage Saturday night at 12:45 am. Adam Hoffart, Dalton Lemon, Austin Kot, Izak Keller, and Evan Mass are also super busy creating new content. The band released their brand new EP just the day before their performance, 'Cold White Snow'. You can stream it for free right on their website: http://www.smallcityblues.com/

Also hitting the Garden Stage was Dangerously Canadian, which consists of our very own Summer Fun Correspondent, and multi-band man, Rylan Chessall, and his Ontario-born friend Joel Durkson. These two met while away in Liverpool, England, where both were attending the same music school. These guys are just as busy as Tenille Arts and Small City Blues, with a brand new EP being released very soon, and will be performing at Pumpjacks Saloon on Saturday, July 29th. Make sure to grab your tickets, and to brush up on their music before attending. You can listen for free on Spotify or Soundcloud, and here is their latest release, 'Suffering':

A fantastic turn out, with bigger crowds during day time shows than ever, and the weekend of a lifetime for a Weyburn native, Mellissa Paxman, who not only won the 50/50 of over $7500, but also got proposed to by her boyfriend, Parallel 49 member Luke Hildebrand during his performance.

Save the date! The 2018 Gateway Festival is set for July 27th - 29th.
