It's an annual event that has helped the Weger family in Weyburn raise over $400,000 for Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
The 10th Annual Night Out for Cystic Fibrosis will be returning to Weyburn Saturday May 26th.
"It's a night out of entertainment and supper and auction and we raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis Canada," said organizer Mike Weger.
The goal is to find a cure and control for Cystic Fibrosis, an illness the Weger's daughter, Teresa, was diagnosed with when she was 2 and a half years old.
"When she was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis, we made it our commitment to do every thing we could to help find a cure of control," said Weger.
For the past ten years, Weyburn residents have flocked to the event at McKenna Hall for food, entertainment and to help a great cause but Weger noted that things may be changing as early as next year.
"We've decided that it's likely going to be our last one," said Weger. "Ten years seems to be a good number to step away and we'll probably focus our efforts on other fundraising activities but this is likely the last year for our fundraiser."
Ticket's to this year's event are available at NSWB Law Firm (credit card accepted), The Void or by contacting Cara Weger at (306) 861-6713 or emailing [email protected]. They are $60 for rush seating or you can reserve a table of 8 for $500, which includes 8 drink tickets and reserved seating.
This year's entertainment are no strangers to the event.
"For entertainment this year we have two very popular performers that we've had throughout the years," said Weger. "We have Codie Prevost coming back and he's going to be joined by Tenille Arts again."
Tickets must be purchased in advance before May 21.
