This past Saturday night the R-Bar in Radville, Saskatchewan played host to country music sensation Blake Berglund.

"Blake was an absolutely unique performer which brought in a whole new element of what music can be," explained Lana Tatarliov, owner of the R-Bar. "I know that everybody that was there really enjoyed the story telling along with the music. Which is what sets him apart from other bands. And such a nice man, he's super nice. And Bryce, his sidekick, was funny as well. They brought laughter and easy listening, it was wonderful."

Berglund's live shows combine songs from his own five albums together with several well known country tunes. He also tells jokes and stories while taking the audience along for a wild and fun ride.

Discover Weyburn's Denis Conroy got the opportunity to sit down and chat with Berglund in-between sets. Video interview below.

Berglund was joined on-stage by another Saskatchewan boy, Bryce Lewis. The two played off of each other very naturally which made for a very entertaining show.

Berglund recently released a single named Moose Mountain and at the show at the R-Bar he meshed the song seamlessly with George Strait's Ocean Front Property. Video of that performance below.

Berglund played many familiar tunes that got the crowd at the R-Bar quite excited. One of those songs was A Boy Named Sue by Johnny Cash.

"It was very exciting having Blake Berglund playing at R-Bar in Radville," told Tatarliov, owner of the establishment. "And now I'm looking very forward to bringing in The 7th Avenue, a young band out of Weyburn on March 3." More info about upcoming bands and shows can be found on the R-Bar Facebook page.
