The town of Yellow Grass will be celebrating 80 Years since they set Canada's record for the hottest spot in the country, when it hit 45 degrees on July 5th, 1937, and also celebrating Canada's 150th Birthday. Their celebrations are set to start Friday, June 29th with a Smoked Chicken Supper and a variety of children's activities, a tug of war, cemetary light up and beverage gardens. The fun will continue on Saturday, with a pancake breakfast from 8 am - 10 am, a parade at 11 am, more children's activities, a beef supper and cake, a Ping Pong Drop at 7:30 pm, and then Private Drive will be performing at the street dance starting at 8 pm. There will be fireworks to follow at 10:30 pm.
