SHAC Classes Feb

Looking for something creative to do this winter? Signal Hill Arts Centre(SHAC) always offers fun programs and this winter is no different! They've got classes for all age ranges, abilities, and interests. A few of the classes already started last weekend, with more starting this week and throughout the next few months.

This week, there's a Clay Press Mould class taught by Regan Lanning on Feb 5th. This is actually the class that got me(Krista) into pottery.

The adult clay class kicks off Feb 7th and is taught by Regan Lanning and Elizabeth Lambe. This is a super fun course and is the prerequisite to joining the Weyburn Pottery Club. Looks like this session is already full though!

Kids spend 4 weeks making creative creatures in Animal Art starting February 9th.  Animal Art is a class for kids age 3-5 and is led by Leslie Dempsey,

Teen Pottery also starts this Saturday, taught by Regan Lanning and Elizabeth Lambe. Projects are specifically designed with teens in mind & include speakers, coffee cups, and more.

Later on this month, classes for the young ones:

Kids and preteens can join in on Hand Building in Clay taught by Elizabeth Lambe. This class starts on Feb 27th and has two different age groups 6-8 years and 9-12 years.

There's also Sock Puppets for 9-12 year-olds taught by Leslie Dempsey. At the end of this one, kids will perform a production with their sock puppets on the final day.

There's a wonderful project for a parent and child coming up. Birthstone Zentangle Clay Wall Art is happening February 16th taught by Elizabeth Lambe.

Other projects and classes for adults in February:

If you've ever wondered what it's like to do stained glass, there's a Mosaic Glass Panel class happening Feb 23 & 24th. This class is taught by Marsha Schuld of Orange Tree Design Studio, all materials are included.

Love fun & quirky stuff? The Wonky, Whimsical Clay Goblet class is coming up on February 16th. It'll be taught by Elizabeth Lambe on February 12th.

Those looking to advance their writing skills will enjoy Anne Lazurko's Intermediate Writing program. It runs for 4 weeks, starting February 25th.
