Weyburn has introduced a social event/sport that will take place every week.

There is no cost to attend.  Refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the events.

Let us introduce you to a sport that is similar to curling, but has it's differences:

BOWLS SASKATCHEWAN will host Short Mat Lawn Bowling weekly into May!!!

The goal, to score, is to get closest to the (white) JACK... (in the photo below it is in it's original position at centre)

One challenging part:  the "bowls" look like they will roll perfectly even:

Each side of the bowl is telling a story:  The smaller emblem relays the information it is the side of the bowl that is heavier.

The heavier side will pull in that direction.  This is important to get around a piece of lumber that is in the middle.

The JACK is on the other side of this lumber.  The JACK starts on the middle line but doesn't always stay there.

If you do hit the JACK, it will stay where it moves to (provided it stays in play - see below).

The scoring may change when the JACK moves.  The bowls that are closest to the JACK are the ones counted for keeping score after everyone has had a turn.

Get your calendar out and mark off every Wednesday until May 8.

Get prepared for some fun!  (It takes place downstairs at the Grace United Church)
