The first ever Youth Council has wrapped up for the year at City Hall and Council is hoping to get another batch of applicants for next fall. The opportunity is open to Grades 10, 11 and 12 students.

"What we want is, number one, we want a voice at the City Council table from the young people in our community, it's very important to us, we've taken strides to get there and we want to get better at it," explained Councillor Jeff Richards. "Secondly, this is a great experience for a young person who is going to be looking to go and further their career, maybe at a university level, great experience in how boards work and governance and all of those aspects of things we take on into adulthood."

Applications are available at City Hall or online and are due by the end of the month.
