The Board of Directors for the Weyburn Therapeutic Animal park are seeking creative individuals to put their talent toward a logo contest for the park.

“Right now we have a logo contest going on through our Facebook page. We’re in search for a new logo for the park,” said Media Director Vince Sheldon. “We’re hoping that some members of our community are artistic enough to put together some awesome logos for us.”

He said the logo will be used for many years to come.

“It'll be used of course all around the park, on signs and all that kind of stuff,” he said. “Plus, we're looking into getting volunteer shirts, any contests we do. It'll be on our signs, and it'll be all over our Facebook page. Anything to do with the park, that logo will be used.”

While it’s great exposure for anyone looking to make their mark in logo design, Sheldon said designs can be either created digitally or drawn by hand.

“Really, as long as it shows what our park represents,” he said. “What the Therapeutic Animal Park represents is getting outside, being with family and friends and playing with some fun animals and just enjoying our community.”

He said the contest is fitting, since the park is entirely volunteer-run through community donations.

“Our park is completely community-run, everyone is a volunteer,” said Sheldon. “All of the stuff that we have, everything has been donated, everything has been given through our community of Weyburn.”

“Hopefully we can get the community of Weyburn to help us out and create us an awesome logo that we can use for years and it'll represent our park and bring more people to check out our awesome park,” he added.

He said entries can be sent to the WTAP Facebook page or they can be emailed to wtapark@gmail.com.

The deadline for entries is April 30th. The winning logo will be selected by the board of directors. Winners will receive a prize package donated by the park's business community supporters.
