"It was absolutely touching and amazing and it brought a lump to my throat, and even talking about it brings a lump to my throat, is how the community supported this police service."

Weyburn Police Chief Marlo Pritchard is extending his thank you to the community for their support over the past few weeks.

Members of the community have been bringing meals, coffee and snacks to the police station, as officers have been working a number of difficult cases as of late. This includes an incident in December where an officer was nearly run down and a police cruiser was struck. Of course, there was also the city's first homicide in 23 years.

"We had pizzas delivered, we had buns delivered and at all hours of the night somebody would come in and anonymously drop off a Tim Horton's gift card," Pritchard explained. "I just want to say thank you to the community for supporting your police service, because you don't know how important it was at 3:00 in the morning when we got that."
