It has been just over a month since Premier Brad Wall announced his retirement from politics. The race is on now for the new leader of the Sask Party. Although candidates are still coming out of the woodwork the current candidates are already campaigning.

"At the end of the day we're still a family, so we're kind of in interesting times now because people are starting to pick out their sides and who they're supporting, I think and I know we're going to have this and my hope is that we have a really positive debate and a positive race," says Dustin Duncan, MLA Weyburn-Big Muddy.

Duncan also mentions that Premier Wall will be a tough act to follow, however, the renewal process is an exciting time. The Sask Party, regardless of the outcome, will also have the 2020 Saskatchewan General Election in the back of their minds.

"I am supporting Scott Moe, for me it's really not a question or a decision, I'm not really against any of the other candidates," "I've gotten to know Scott quite well over the last couple of years, we've become really good friends and when he was environment minister and I was the energy minister we sat on a lot of committees together."

The vote for the new Sask Party leader will be January 27, 2018. It is planned to have all the candidates come to Weyburn before the election.
