With the Weyburn Leisure Centre being closed currently due to mechanical issues with their boiler, swimming is out of the question for Weyburn residents who would otherwise be enjoying the water at the indoor pool this weekend. Some might be looking for for something to do with the kids, other than swimming, any day of the week."

"We've had some really nice weather this winter, so if you're looking for something else to do, you can head downtown and take a skate at the Community Rink, or, you know, just make use of all the awesome ammenities that we have in Weyburn," shared Leisure Services Director with the City of Weyburn, Andrew Crowe.

"We have beautiful trails around the entire city that are all cleared off and open for walkers," he noted.

The Young Fellows sponsor a free skate at the Tom Zandee Sports Arena on Sundays from 2:45 to 4:45 p.m., but there is another option for those who want more indoor ice time.

"We offer free public skating during the day at [the Sports Arena]," Crowe said. "A lot of stay at home parents make use of it with their small children, it's kind of hard for school-aged kids or working families to get to."

Skating on the Souris River is also an option for those who just want to go ice-skating outdoors.

Ice fishing is another option if you're adventuring outside of the City. Just remember your ice safety tips HERE.
