Pick-a-Premier is a campaign by the Saskatchewan Teachers Federation encouraging teachers to join a provincial political party.

"We are in a once in a generation opportunity here. Both the Sask. Party and the NDP party are picking their leaders at the current moment. So what the Saskatchewan Teachers Federation are doing is asking teachers to become politically active by becoming either a member of the Sask Party or a member of the NDP," said Karen Kennedy-Allin, Physics and Biology Teacher, Weyburn Comprehensive High School.

The Saskatchewan party are picking the Premier for the next two years, January 27th at the next party convention. The deadline to become a member of the Sask party is December 8th.

The NDP party are picking the leader of the party March 3rd.
The deadline to become an NDP party member is January 19th.

"For me, this is a very exciting opportunity for teachers voices to be heard."

Kennedy-Allin also said that teachers really care about the students and that the best voice for students can be teachers.

Questions are going to be asked of all the political candidates to find out what they have to say about educations, by the STF.

Kennedy-Allin is sharing her passion for education by inviting other teachers and those who care about education to get involved.

The STF and Kennedy-Allin are not telling anyone which party to join or who to vote for.
