Members of the Weyburn Fire Service were at Crescent Point Place on Saturday to raise funds for charity. Muscular Dystrophy Canada is supported by firefighters across the nation who raise around $3 million each year for the cause.

Weyburn volunteer firefighter Lisa Robertson thanked Weyburn for the support. "We thank everybody for coming out and helping us raise money for this great cause."

Attendees of the Weyburn Red Wing game donated by purchasing a 'chuck-a-puck' or by 'filling the boot'. The firefighters raised around $500 from those two different donations.

"It was a lot of fun," said Robertson.

"We try to help out however we can. There have been families here in Weyburn that we have been able to help support throughout the years. It's great to see that we can be part of that, in making their lives a little bit easier."
