The 4th Annual Duck Derby Communithon Fundraiser was a huge success!

At noon on Sunday, 2520 rubber ducks were dumped into the Souris River. All of them had numbers that corresponded with entry tickets bought by the community. The ducks then "raced" down the river and the numbers matching the first four ducks to cross won cash prizes, with first place winning over $800.

The event itself raised over $4,000 from duck sales alone and also served as the Communithon kick off, bringing in even more funds from a barbecue put on by the Weyburn and District United Way.

The day also included face painting, bouncey houses, a petting zoo and balloon animals by Richy Roy.

Communithon will run this year on Friday, October 20th and Saturday, October 21st at the Cugnet Centre.
