It will be a busy night for Weyburn City Council when they meet in chambers at City Hall Monday night. Among the many items on the agenda will be a delegation from the Weyburn Golf Club.

The delegation will be discussing the prospects of the City of Weyburn taking ownership of the golf course. It is part of the ongoing discussions regarding the tax arrears the golf club owes to the Rural Municipality of Weyburn. The golf club is currently awaiting to hear from the provincial mediator concerning the tax situation, and want to have the details worked out before the tax situation is completely resolved.

From there, council will be receiving the regular reports from various committees. Those include the facilities committee, the library board, and the fire department. Results from the city’s survey environmental committee will be tabled as well.

An update to the bylaw for Hillcrest Cemetery will be presented and voted on by the council, before they look at the new contract between the city and Weyburn Regional Economic Development. A review of the services needed for the construction of the new water reservoir will be looked, in addition to the rates for the septage receiving station. Council will also discuss a development permit for the conversion of the main floor of 202 4th Street NE to residential space, and a look at the article put forward by Ombudsman Saskatchewan on promoting fairness.
