An unusual motion Monday at Weyburn City Council was needed to correct a few errors with the registries at Information Services Corporation. The provincial Crown Corporation is where everything from street names, to land titles, are registered. Errors were discovered with where streets officially begin on the registry, as well as the correct name of a street.

While residents along the streets haven’t suffered any impact as a result of the changes, they needed to be made to ensure everything was cleared up. One of the changes was made to the name of Elmer Johnston Drive here in Weyburn. The ISC had the street listed as Elmer Johnson Drive. While the error could have been something as simple as a typo, the council needed to pass a motion to have ISC correct it in their registry.

The other errors concerned Barber Crescent. The registry needed to be updated to reflect the street started at the intersection. The registry had the crescent beginning roughly 40 feet past the intersection.

None of the changes impacted the residents, in particular when it comes to things like mail delivery. The motion was passed unanimously by council.
