The Junior Achievement class at Weyburn Comprehensive School has helped students learn a hands-on approach to Business since 2014.

This semester there are three companies formed by the class taught my Margot Arnold, Entrepreneurship Teacher, WCS.

Balanced Jewellery makes necklaces designed for men and women.

"We were spitballing ideas and jewellery was one of them that really stuck so whoever wanted to do jewellery joined our company," explained Tylan Charlton, President, Balanced Jewellery.

"We are selling with the Canadian Mental Health Association for their mental health week coming up in May. We have been at a few trade shows and we have a few coming up also and so it's really good to get out in the community."

Charlton explained the logo includes triangles instead of the letter 'A' in the name Balanced to represent three aspects of life; Physical, Mental and Spiritual.

"We think Mental (health) is often overlooked, which is why we decided to donate 10 percent of our proceeds to the Mental Health Association."

Balanced Jewellery met with CMHA in Weyburn and learnt about the different programs they run.

Two of the Balanced company members had the opportunity to meet Former Premier Brad Wall at the JA Business Hall of Fame Banquet on Tuesday evening in Regina.

"It was really awesome, a really good experience and he bought some of our jewellery as well so that was cool," said Mary Beach who was there selling products with a fellow business partner Emily Bedore.

Balanced Jewellery merchandise is available until the end of the school year.
