With everyone, everywhere, staying at home in an effort to flatten the curve and spread of the COVID-19 virus, 'virtual' activities have been popping up all over social media.

The Weyburn Public Library has only been closed since Friday, but they've already been providing virtual programming this week. 

"Basically we're continuing on, just like our in-person programming, so we're trying to keep connected with our patrons during this time of closure," explained Branch Manager Matthew Rankin. "This is new for us, and it's new for everyone else, and we hope people like it, and we'll do our best to help people out."

"We're continuing both Children and Adult programming online, so Cora-Lynn Sexton, our Children's Programmer, she'll be running programs Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 11:00 a.m.," he shared. "Adult Programming with Lisa Baird on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 2:30 p.m."

"I'm really proud of my programmers Cora-Lynn and Lisa, they've done a fantastic job with very short notice, putting this together and managing and coming up with different ideas."

He said there are a few things still coming down the pipeline they're thinking of doing in addition to the current, new, virtual programming.

"We just have to flesh out when we're actually going to be doing it," he noted.
