A pair of attempted shoplifters were apprehended by the Weyburn Police Service after they were called by the business. The duo was caught by workers at the business hiding products in their pockets and attempting to steal from the store.

When police arrived on the scene, one of the individuals was discovered to have a warrant for his arrest due to a traffic ticket. The man was taken into custody and later released with a scheduled court date.

"Generally, the rule is if someone is walking around the business and takes an item off the shelf and sticks it in the pocket or in their coat, that's not a normal place to carry stuff when you shop," warned Acting Chief of Police, Rod Stafford. "People can be approached by the owner or police at that point and certainly when you leave the store."

When shopping, to avoid being mistaken for a shoplifter one should place their items in the provided baskets or carts.
