Today, the family of the teenaged girl whose vehicle collided with a train last week, reported via social media that she has passed away.

Kailynn Bursic-Panchuk was flown by STARS Air Ambulance from the scene of the collision, which occurred just south of Weyburn off of Highway 39 on August 16th.

She had been in a medically-induced coma, but she never woke up due to the severity of her injuries. She had just turned 17-years old.

CP Rail Police are still investigating the accident, with the assistance of an RCMP traffic reconstructionist.
