Weyburn's Opportunity Road Race made a generous donation of $5000 to Tatagwa Parkways. The City and the Tatagwa Parkways Board are excited to put the funds to good use.

"We have some maintenance in particular that we're targeting for this coming year in our budget, and those funds will be directed that way to help improve and put some additional pavement down to improve the walkways," says Winston Bailey, City Councillor who also sits on the Tatagwa Parkways Board.

There is already a plan in place to resurface 500 metres of pathway in the spring. The Tatagwa Parkway suffered damages due to the 2011 flooding.

"Every time you get an organization that brings people to Weyburn for an event and then is able to donate back to continually upgrade the City, it improves the city for everyday use, not just those visiting us," says Bailey.

Weyburn's Opportunity Road Race has announced that they will be holding 2018's race on Father's Day, June 17th.
