The Weyburn Police Service is asking for the public's help with any information leading to the arrest of a suspect who brandished a weapon and demanded property from a victim late last night.

Last night at approximately 11:45 p.m., while walking on Fourth Street northeast in Weyburn, a victim was approached by a suspect who demanded property under threat of assault.

Police say the victim was assaulted, but was able to flee without injury. 

The suspect was last observed on foot southbound Fourth Street northeast, and is described as a caucasian male in his early 20s, 5'8" in height with a slim build, who was wearing a black hoodie, a black hat, and dark jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Weyburn Police Service or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (refer to file #2021-1-115-208).

The Weyburn Police Service would like to remind  the public of the importance of staying in well-lit and if possible, populated or high-traffic areas when walking at night.  If any suspicious activity is observed, call police. In the event of an emergency, call 9-1-1.
