The sunshine has returned to the southeast and things are about to warm up a bit, which is welcome news after wind chills dipped down to nearly -30 degrees last night.

Mark Melsness with Environment Canada said it will be a mild weekend, weather-wise, with no major systems on the horizon.

"Should be a fair bit of sunshine around," said Melsness. "The only thing I might caution is that with the milder air moving there is a chance that eventually we could start seeing some of those fog patches again."

Environment Canada is forecasting highs of -9 today and -4 tomorrow, however, wind chill values will make it feel much colder, especially overnight. Tonight the wind chill is dropping to -27 and there's a risk of frostbite.

Despite the wind chill, the sunshine is expected to take care of some of the frost that is still hanging around from all the foggy days experienced last week. Check out photos of the frost last weekend HERE.

Normal highs for this time of year are -6 degrees. The full forecast can be found HERE.
