The Weyburn Canadian Tire teamed up with the Weyburn Fire Department to make sure every child has a present to open during the holiday season. Saturday saw Weyburn's Second Annual Stuff a Fire Truck event.

"It's been actually phenomenal, we've had tons of people show up, even just driving through the parking lot and dropping gifts off," says Lisa Robertson, Weyburn Firefighter. "Young and old everyone is enjoying the time to come out and meet the firefighters and help the family place out."

Citizens of Weyburn were encouraged to bring a toy or gift to donate and actually climb inside the fire truck to pack it full of gifts. As the mountain on gifts stacking up, children enjoyed taking pictures with the firefighters and even meeting Santa.

"There's a big need for something like this in the community and this is something we saw when we moved here a few years ago," says Paul Blanchard, one of the Owners of Canadian Tire. "We just felt this would be a great event and the Weyburn firefighters are so eager to help with everything in the community and this was just a great event for us to put together for the Family Place."

The Weyburn Canadian Tire kicked off the event by donating $1000 worth of toys. The presents will now be taken to the Weyburn Family Place for them to disperse to those children in need.
