Along with the other communities in southeast Saskatchewan, Stoughton is getting ready for winter.

Tom Creighton is the shop superintendent in the community. He explained there are a few things they need to do before the season truly changes.

“We are right now, we’re going to be in the midst of flushing fire hydrants and water lines, then draining the hydrants and getting them prepared with anti-freeze for the winter,” Creighton said.

In addition to the work on the hydrant flushing, there is also work being done on some of the streets with patching being completed, when the weather cooperates. The pool is also being winterized ahead of the deep freeze which will inevitably come with winter.

The golf course is also in the process of being prepared for the colder months. The irrigation lines have been flushed ahead of the season.
