Southeast Saskatchewan continues to show signs of improvement when it comes to the job market. The unemployment rate is sitting at 4.4 percent in the region, according to Statistics Canada's latest job numbers, which were released this morning.

The stats show 800 new jobs in the region. The regional numbers are well below the provincial unemployment rate of 6.6 percent.

As for the rest of the country, the lowest unemployment rate in more than 40 years was reported, at 5.8 percent.
