Summertime fun on South Hill in Weyburn will stay a little dryer this summer.

Weyburn City Council decided to delay the new spray park project originally planned for this summer.

"We thought it was better maybe to combine it with the Don Mitchell Paddling Pool that we hopefully will do in 2016. Hopefully, this way we can get more interest and a better price for the city if two projects are awarded," said city councillor, Dick Michel.

Michel says the community needs to raise a total of $125,000 for the new spray park and that support from the community is critical.

"It's going to happen; it's just not going to happen in those time lines," said Michel. "We're sending out letters now to different organizations and service clubs. Hopefully when we have our meeting in March we'll have some more details and by that time maybe we can release some numbers."

Michel added that it has been a struggle, but "things that are good take time".
